**Viera Elementary School Celebrates "Take a Vet to School Day"**
Viera Elementary School recently hosted "Take a Vet to School Day," where Kindergarten through 6th-grade students came together to honor over 200 local Veterans.
The event featured several activities designed to engage both students and Veterans. A patriotic parade kicked off the day, led by the youngest students known as the Falcons. The formal program included the singing of the National Anthem and "America the Beautiful," alongside the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, with assistance from Viera High's ROTC Color Guard. Students also showcased original writings and other patriotic creative works.
Additionally, students participated in a "Boot Camp" playtime that included various military-inspired stations, fostering teamwork and physical activity. Classroom visits provided opportunities for Veterans to engage in question-and-answer sessions with older students, with some panels featuring parents and teachers as guest speakers.
The event aimed to create a meaningful environment for honoring those who have served and continue to serve the community.
