**"Lived Experience Storytelling" Brings Community Together in Indianapolis**
Indianapolis/Marion County—Beatrice Beverly, a Community Ambassador with the Indianapolis Foundation, is leading the charge for greater mental health advocacy and community connection through her initiative, “Lived Experience Storytelling.”
Beatrice’s innovative approach brings individuals together to share personal stories of life challenges in safe, welcoming spaces. Her events are designed to celebrate transparency and foster understanding while promoting mental health awareness and equity across Indianapolis and Marion County.
The storytelling events incorporate a combination of music, food, personal narratives, and Q&A sessions. These elements work together to create an environment that supports vulnerability, connection, and mutual growth among participants. By encouraging openness and conversation, Beatrice emphasizes the importance of community engagement and shared lived experiences.
Her work is helping to build a network of individuals and families who find healing through celebrating truth and understanding. The “Lived Experience Storytelling” model is an inspiring example of how artistic expression and real-life narratives can generate meaningful change in local communities.
