Cocoa High, EFSC launch Tigers to Titans Welding Program
Brevard Public Schools announced the launch of the Tigers to Titans Dual Enrollment CTE Welding Program between Cocoa High School and Eastern Florida State College (EFSC). Fifteen students are enrolled in the inaugural cohort and will work toward earning both their high school diplomas and multiple industry certifications, positioning them for immediate employment in a high-demand career field.
The initiative reflects Cocoa High's commitment to ensuring every student graduates with a strong postsecondary plan. The district notes that not every student is looking for a traditional college path, and many are eager to enter the workforce in Brevard County.
By aligning with local businesses and industries, the program aims to expand career opportunities for students and strengthen the local economy and community.
The district said it is proud of the partnership and expects a positive impact on students and their futures. It also noted that videos of the first class in action will be released soon.
The program's inaugural cohort is referred to in materials as the Inaugural Tigers to Titan Cohort.
